Ore Minerals

Ore minerals form the foundation of Ukraine's mineral resource base. The country actively develops deposits of manganese, iron, titanium-zirconium and uranium ores. Deposits with evaluated industrial reserves of copper, gold, chromium, nickel, beryllium, lithium, vanadium, scandium, lead, zinc, aluminum, niobium, tantalum, strontium, hafnium, cadmium, silver, and rare earth elements have been explored.

Based on preliminary geological exploration results, there is a high probability of discovering minerals such as tungsten, molybdenum, and tin.

This group of raw materials is used in such fields as mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and rocket engineering.

Non-metallic Minerals

Ukraine has large reserves of non-metallic minerals, including: limestone, dolomite, potash salts, kaolins, refractory clays, bentonite clays, porcelain-faience raw materials, sulfur, graphite, decorative stone, gypsum and concrete aggregates.

Over 4,500 non-metallic mineral deposits have been explored in Ukraine, and at another 360 ore deposits, non-metallic raw materials have been assessed as a by-product mineral.

This group of mineral raw materials can be used practically without further processing and is applied in such fields as construction, metallurgy, agro-industrial complex, radio electronics, and the paper industry.
